Kit Clark Senior Services has helped older adults in Greater Boston live with dignity and independence in the community since 1974. Named after Dorchester community activist Catherine (Kit) Forbes Clark, Kit Clark has an integrated continuum of services that provide support for about 4,000 elders each year. With over 200 staff and more than 30 program locations across Boston, Kit Clark has an enormously positive impact on the lives of thousands of senior Bostonians and their families.
Our professional staff conduct many of its programs in five different languages, ensuring these much needed support services reach elders with diverse ethnic backgrounds. In our day programs, participants meet new friends and discover interests in an exciting and warm environment. Each person chooses from a variety of therapeutic and creative individual or group activities. Outings and seasonal celebrations are offered on a regular basis.
Our kitchen staff deliver nutritious and fresh meals to over 1,200 seniors each day. Many of these meals are delivered to home bound seniors through the Meals on Wheels program. Some are brought to congregate sites where older adults come for socialization, activities, and a nutritious meal.
Our transportation department uses a fleet of handicapped-accessible vehicles. The staff is trained in CPR and first aid. Our lift-equipped vans can be dispatched to provide transportation between seniors’ homes and program sites for adult day health, memory loss, congregate nutrition, and program related recreation programs.
